Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and Techno Optics LLC, trading as OneNect, which operates the app. By using OneNect you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
If you use OneNect through an organisation, that organisation may also have its own rules for its members. Those sit alongside these terms rather than replacing them, and where its rules govern something it decides, such as what it asks of you or what it publishes to other members, they are the ones that apply to it.
What OneNect is
OneNect is a communication and wellbeing app. It connects you with the people and the organisations you belong to: your family and friends, and where they use it, your workplace, your congregation or your household.
The app does not sell anything and takes no payment. It collects no payment method and charges nothing. Nothing shown in the app is an offer to sell, and no request placed through the app creates a contract of sale.
Where the app lets you request branded promotional items or printed material, those are goods your organisation supplies free of charge at its discretion. It may limit quantities, decline a request or withdraw an item at any time, and nothing in the app is a promise that any item will be available or supplied. Where you hold a separate arrangement covering such items, that arrangement governs, not these terms.
Accounts
If you are given an account, keep your credentials secure and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used them. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or close an account that is used in breach of these terms, and an organisation may close the account it gave you.
Safety alerts
OneNect can deliver urgent safety alerts, including alerts that take over the screen and sound an alarm.
Do not rely on the app as your only means of emergency notification. Delivery depends on your device, its settings, your network, your operating system, and the notification services operated by Apple and Google. Any of these can delay or prevent an alert. Always follow the emergency procedures at your site. In an emergency, contact the emergency services.
What you may not do
Do not use the app unlawfully, misrepresent who you are, upload content you do not have the right to upload, upload anything unlawful, harassing, defamatory or obscene, attempt to gain unauthorised access, interfere with its operation, or extract data at scale by automated means.
Content you post
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant Techno Optics LLC a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to host, store, reproduce and display it for the purpose of operating the app. You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it. We may remove content that breaches these terms, and the organisation whose OneNect you posted it in may remove it under its own rules.
Whose material is whose
The app itself, its code, its design and the OneNect name and logo are owned by Techno Optics LLC or its licensors. The name, the logo and the content an organisation puts into its own OneNect remain that organisation's. You may use either only as part of using the app.
Availability
We aim to keep the app available but we do not guarantee it. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may stop supporting older versions.
Disclaimers and liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law Techno Optics LLC disclaims all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Techno Optics LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of production arising from use of the app. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Consumers keep their statutory rights. If you use the app as a consumer, nothing here removes rights you have under the law of your country.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, and the courts of Minnesota have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you may bring proceedings in your country of residence and the mandatory consumer law of that country applies.
Apple and Google
These terms are between you and Techno Optics LLC, not with Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or for support of it. Apple's subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
